What Happens When You Decide to Work with Steadfast?

At Steadfast, we care about the code...  But that’s not all we care about.

Today, we want to break down the way that we think about the kinds of projects we take on, the kinds of considerations we care about before starting, and what we want the outcomes of our work to look like for you.

Let’s break that down.

How we choose our projects.

In selecting our clients, our first concern is: can we help this team achieve success with this project?  We want to understand the project, but more importantly, the goal of our prospective client and whether a custom software solution is the best way to achieve that goal.

In the world of technology, there are typically multiple ways to achieve a particular outcome.  Custom solutions are one of those ways, but may be over complicated, over expensive, or inefficient to get a client to where they want to be.  We want to be honest and point the person to the best possible solution.  Our goal is client success every time, even if we aren’t the right fit.

There’s another important consideration for Steadfast however: personal fit.

At Steadfast, we know that the development of a custom software solution is a close partnership.  We work closely with our clients throughout the process.  We need to know that our style and culture fits with our client.

We have a strict “No Asshole” policy at Steadfast.  We know that the best outcomes come from mutual respect.  Problems will come up, and tempers will flare at times.  We want to make sure that when that happens, we can work through it and get to a better outcome.  So if we are getting red flags early on, we will recommend a prospective client go elsewhere regardless of how big the potential job.

What we need to get started.

Once we decide to work with a client, it's time for a deep dive into the problem to find the best possible solution.

While we are not a user experience or design firm, we understand that our output relies on a lot of factors outside of the code itself.  Steadfast is made up of entrepreneurs who know what it means to build products from scratch.  We understand that product considerations, user input, market research, and more go into what is going to make this build and our client successful in practice.

This means we ask a lot of questions. We want to know what data matters to our clients, what their customers are saying, what their employees are learning, and as much about the problem as possible.  We use that information to create the initial scope of work, so that we can get started.  If you are thinking about working with us, the more information you can provide, the better our solution will be.

Working together.

Software development, especially product creation, is an iterative process.  While we try to scope the best possible solutions, we know that things will change as we work together.  You may obtain new information, or we may look at an early version together and decide that things need to shift.

Steadfast is not just your dev shop, we are your technology partner in this project.  We need you to be an active part of the process to get the project done.  We are always flexible in terms of making changes, adding to the scope of work, and/or extending the number of hours as necessary.  When we agree that a change needs to happen, we will provide detailed information on the effect of the change on timing and budget.

Project delivery and into the future.

Delivery of the project isn’t necessarily the end of our relationship.  Of course, we also offer service and support packages.  Beyond that formal relationship, however, our goal is to be an ongoing resource.

We know that you will have questions and that you may need additional development or additional features to keep moving forward.  We have your back.  Once you are a Steadfast client, we are your ongoing technology consultant as long as you need us, and we are going to prioritize your projects over new incoming business as much as we can.

In Conclusion

We put in a lot of work up front, because in the end, our goal is to be a long term technology partner for you and your business.  We want to build great technology and products, and continue to help you achieve success into the future.

So, if you are interested in working with us, reach out here with a description of your project, and we’d love to help you build something great.
